Cookie policy

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small browser records; localStorage and session storage are other browser-storage technologies, not all cookies. Eye Catching Italian uses necessary browser storage to make Visual 50 work and remember your choices. Last updated: 29 October 2026.

Eye Catching Italian is operated by Emphasys AB (Swedish organization number 559255-8109), Forskarbacken 5, 114 15 Stockholm, Sweden. Contact: alex@eyecatchingitalian.com.

Necessary — always on

Necessary functionality includes local Visual 50 progress and review schedules, account/session storage, cloud synchronization and security. Cloudflare Turnstile protects OTP requests and is not blocked by optional-consent choices. Necessary functionality cannot be disabled in Cookie preferences.

Learning storage lasts until browser removal or the existing verified account-claim cleanup. Login storage lasts until logout, expiration or browser removal. The separate consent record lasts until removed or updated; an older policy version prompts a new decision. Provider security/log lifetimes require confirmation rather than a promised fixed duration.

Analytics — off by default

PostHog is our optional product-analytics integration and initializes only when Analytics is enabled and the service is configured. It collects sanitized page usage and derived learning interaction/outcome events, not typed answers or email. Signed-in identity uses the account’s internal UUID. Session Replay, arbitrary click/autocapture, automatic pageviews and pageleaves are disabled. Cookie settings lets you withdraw consent without changing learning or newsletter preferences. Our PostHog project is configured to send analytics to PostHog’s EU ingestion endpoint (eu.i.posthog.com). Analytics storage uses a separate SDK identity, minimal milestone-delivery booleans and a session marker, never your learning document. With Analytics enabled we also retain validated first/latest UTM and funnel-route labels in eci.attribution.v1 for approved PostHog funnel/return analysis, without raw addresses, click IDs, identities, timestamps or click history. No attribution is persisted before Analytics consent, and withdrawal removes this separate record. Marketing alone does not authorize it.

Marketing — off by default

Marketing permits the configured ManyChat Pixel and, once a public Pixel ID is supplied, the Meta browser Pixel for advertising measurement and optimization. Meta receives only PageView and six coarse learning/save-intent milestone signals, with browser/network information and eligible page addresses; it may use its own browser cookies. No application-supplied email, account UUID or Advanced Matching is sent. Meta is blocked on token-bearing or otherwise recognized sensitive addresses. Application milestone-delivery booleans are separate from learning progress and removed when Marketing is withdrawn. A server-side Meta Conversions API integration for confirmed Visual 50 Kit newsletter subscriptions has been built but is currently disabled. It is not transmitting confirmed-newsletter Meta Leads or hashed subscriber email addresses to Meta. Existing first-party processing of Kit newsletter webhook events and available signup attribution is separate from these disabled Meta transmissions. This server-side integration is separate from the optional browser Meta Pixel controlled by Marketing cookie preferences; enabling Marketing does not activate it. Any future activation is a separate decision requiring an appropriate legal basis and privacy safeguards. Enabling Marketing does not subscribe you to newsletter email; account creation and login do not subscribe you either.

What your choices control

Accept all enables Analytics and Marketing. Reject optional leaves both off. Choose preferences lets you enable either category independently. Necessary remains on. Choices control Eye Catching Italian's app-controlled optional tracking technologies, not independent hosting processing.

The hosting platform may process technical telemetry independently of Eye Catching Italian's optional tracking choices. Current inspection identified pathname-level technical collection, not arbitrary complete URL or query-string collection. The application cannot control that platform processing through Cookie settings. Its exact provider roles, purpose, retention and transfer arrangements require further confirmation.

Change or withdraw your choice

Use Cookie settings in the desktop footer or Cookie preferences in the mobile Settings & privacy menu at any time. Save preferences to apply changes immediately. Withdrawal stops future app-controlled optional tracking for the withdrawn category; it does not clear learning progress, log you out or unsubscribe newsletter email.

The local consent record contains only version, Necessary status, Analytics and Marketing booleans and the decision time. It is not connected to your account. If browser storage is blocked, the choice can apply for this page session but may need to be made again after reload. Contact alex@eyecatchingitalian.com for privacy questions.
